NextEra Transmission Public Engagement - Roadrunner

We Want to Hear from You!

BACKSTORY:

NextEra Energy Transmission Southwest is hosting two open houses in collaboration with the State Land Office for the public to learn more about the proposed Crossroads – Hobbs – Roadrunner transmission line in Roosevelt and Lea counties, which is aimed at improving the efficiency and reliability of the electric grid. The meetings can be attended in person or online.

The project aims to deliver lower-cost generation to the region and enhance the reliability of the electric grid by building an approximately 135-mile double-circuit 345-kV transmission line that interconnects the existing Crossroads, Hobbs and Roadrunner substations in Roosevelt and Lea counties.

***Please note that this project is not related to the U.S. Department of Energy’s proposed National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor (NIETC) in eastern New Mexico.

Commissioner of Public Lands Stephanie Garcia Richard values feedback from local residents like you and is holding these public sessions to answer any questions you may have.
