Notice of Public Meeting for J-43 Transmission Line

Southwestern Public Service Company (SPS), a subsidiary of Xcel Energy Inc., is proposing to construct and operate a 345-kilovolt single circuit transmission line and is seeking input from the public. The line would connect the Roadrunner Substation in Lea County, New Mexico to the Andrews County Substation in Andrews County, Texas. SPS, alongside New Mexico State Land Office (NMSLO) representatives, will host a public meeting to discuss the project on December 3rd at the Eunice Community Center (906 12th Street, Eunice, NM 88231) from 6:00pm to 7:00pm MST. The meeting will also be hosted virtually on Zoom. The meeting will begin with a brief presentation, followed by a Q&A session.

During the meeting, the team will present the proposed design and the results of the natural and cultural resource surveys. The transmission line will be approximately 40.7 miles long located on private lands and lands managed by the NMSLO. Of the 40.7 miles, 4 miles will be located on lands managed by NMSLO in Sections 34-36 of Township 23 South, Range 35 East, and Section 32 of Township 23 South, Range 36 East.
