State Land Commissioner Aubrey Dunn appointed Anthony Casados to the State Land Trusts Advisory Board to represent the Trust Beneficiaries, which include public schools, New Mexico Military Institute, New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, New Mexico School for the Deaf, and seven universities, among others.
“Mr. Casados has been an educator for 30 years and always has the best interest of New Mexico’s school children at heart,” said Commissioner Dunn. “He will offer a unique perspective as we implement policies to boost revenues and distributions to the Trust beneficiaries.”
Casados earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, with an emphasis on mathematics, from the University of New Mexico and a master’s degree in educational administration from New Mexico Highlands University. Since 2010, Casados has served as superintendent of Chama Valley Schools managing district-wide programs, capital outlay, transportation, and human resources. Previous to that position he served as assistant superintendent and principal of Escalante High School, Tierra Amarilla Middle School, Tierra Amarilla Elementary School, and Canjilon Elementary School.
“It is an honor to serve on the State Lands Trust Advisory Board,” said Casados. “I hope my input on issues pertaining to public education will assist in providing guidance and support to Commissioner Dunn.” Anthony was sponsored by State Senator Richard Martinez, D-Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Sandoval, Santa Fe
