State Land Trusts Advisory Board Seeking New Members
The New Mexico State Land Office is currently seeking interested members of the general public to represent the agriculture industries, the extractive industries and to represent the beneficiaries of the state land trust to serve on the Trusts Advisory Board for a six-year term beginning in January 2017 and ending in January 2023.
The Trusts Advisory Board advises the Commissioner in protecting and maintaining the assets and resources of the state trust lands and maximize the income as mandated by the Constitution of New Mexico, the Enabling Act, and by state statute. The Commissioner and staff meet with the state land trusts advisory board two (2) times per year in addition to the annual joint meeting with the trust beneficiaries.

State Land Trusts Advisory Board
The Land Trusts Advisory Board assists the State Land Commissioner in the formulation of policies and programs for the trust. By law, the Board is politically and geographically diverse. It represents the trust’s beneficiaries and key constituencies. Two members represent the beneficiary institutions and one each representing agriculture, extractive industries, and conservation interests. Two members serve at large. The members are appointed by the State Land Commissioner and confirmed by the State Senate to serve six-year terms.

The State Land Office will hold a Trusts Advisory Board Regular Meeting on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 9:00 AM. The meeting will be held at the State Land Office in Morgan Hall.
