Candidate Species Conservation

The Candidate Species Conservation Program funds critical research and improves habitat for species experiencing declining populations on state trust lands. The objective of the program is to prioritize those species most at-risk and, together with lessees, and state and federal agencies, manage habitat more effectively and efficiently.
The program seeks to improve sensitive species habitat through surface reclamation and fire restoration.
