The Minerals Group is responsible for processing and administering leases on State Trust Land for commodities including sand and gravel, limestone, caliche, potash, coal, salt, and geothermal resources. Specific State Land Office Rules are applicable to each commodity (see Lease Programs link). In addition to oversight and administration of all active mineral leases, the Group evaluates new lease applications to ensure protection of the environment, reclamation to productive post-mining land use, and an assessment of mineral production to provide the best revenue return to Trust beneficiaries.
