Range Stewardship Incentive Program
REWARDING GOOD STEWARDS OF THE LAND
Grazing lessees with a proven record as prudent rangeland managers can qualify for a 25% reduction in their grazing fees. The Range Stewardship Incentive Program (RSIP) was developed because we at the State Land Office believe it’s time to recognize – and reward – the accomplishment of those lessees who, over the years, have consistently practiced a strong land ethic. By rewarding such efforts we want to encourage our lessees to keep up the good work. At the same time, the program offers a monetary incentive for other lessees to improve the condition of their lands. It pays to be good land stewards.
RSIP seeks to achieve three fundamental goals:
1. Realize the full ecological potential for the Trust Lands;
2. Generate a higher long-term economic return for the Beneficiaries of the Trust Lands;
3. Leave for the next generation a legacy which retains the essential integrity and diversity of the Trust Land’s natural communities.
