Clyde Ward comes to the State Land Office with a wide range of skills and experience. He was most recently serving in his second term as the San Juan County Assessor. During his 13 years in the Assessor’s Office he served as the Chairman of the Assessors’ Affiliate of the New Mexico Association of Counties and Chairman of the Assessors’ Affiliate legislative committee. Additionally he was serving as the New Mexico Association of Counties President Elect when he decided to come to work at the State Land Office.
He is an adjunct professor with New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service. Providing instruction for best practices and theories associated with governmental management behaviors and strategies.
Clyde was honorably discharged after serving 10 years of active duty in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in the United Kingdom, New Mexico and Hawaii. He is a lifetime resident of New Mexico and enjoys fly fishing and camping.
