Christina Cordova - Assistant Commissioner - Educational Programs & Beneficiary Services
Christina Córdova, a native Taoseña, has worked at the local, state, and federal levels of government for 24 years. She began her public service career at Taos County and relocated to Washington, D.C. to work on Capitol Hill. She worked for the New Mexico Third Congressional District, as Assistant Director of Spanish radio news for a national party headquarters, and as Office Manager for the New Mexico Governor’s Washington office.
Upon returning to New Mexico, Córdova served as press secretary for the New Mexico Secretary of State. For most of her career, she served as Public Information Officer for the Department of Transportation District 4 and received national awards for programs that enhanced the image of the United States transportation industry, most notably, the "Fix on Route 66". Cordova was appointed to Leadership DOT and was a founding member of the NMDOT Employee Recognition Program.
Prior to joining the State Land Office during the current Powell administration, Córdova served as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the North Central Regional Transit District. While at the NCRTD, she received national recognition for her work in print advertisements and broadcasting from the Southwest Transit Association, which represents eight southwestern states.
