Agriculture Lease Renewals
One fifth of the state trust land grazing leases, GR series, are up for renewal in the summer of 2011. The GO series contains about 600 leases covering 1.5 million acres of state trust land.
Renewal applications were mailed out around June 23, 2011. They need to be completed and returned to the State Land Office on or before 5:00 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2011 to protect the current lesseeās right to match a competitive bid. An instruction sheet will be included with all lease renewals and applications to lease state trust land. Please follow the instructions carefully to avoid any problems.
Any application submitted or received after Sept. 1, 2011 will not be awarded to you (the current lessee), if the State Land Office has received a competitive bid. The lease renewal must be IN the State Land Office no later than Sept. 1, 2011 by 5 p.m. to preserve the option to participate in a sealed competitive bid process. Lease renewals received after this date will not be given the option to enter into a sealed competitive bid if a competing bid has been submitted for the lease.
Renewal contracts not received by Sept. 30, 2011 will result in the lease being expired and classified as open acreage. Any interested applicant may apply for state trust land in open acreage. (Faxes and emails cannot be accepted!)
NOTE TO PUBLIC: Anyone wishing to submit a competitive bid must obtain the necessary forms from the State Land Office and return the completed forms by Sept. 1, 2011.
